Aura sem cabeça

A cabeça da minha peça, na volta do Duche em Sintra foi roubada por alguém sem escrúpulos. Para a repor, tive de trabalhar arduamente e à pressa, antes de ir para o simpósio que se realiza na Azambuja e começa já amanhã.


A colocação da nova cabeça foi feita hoje de manhã, com a ajuda do meu colega, o escultor Moisés e a do meu companheiro, o pintor Luis filipe Gomes










Com a cabeça de novo nos ombros

Etching | Água forte

This step on the engraving process is called etching. It consists of applying a varnish to the surface of a copper plate so a drawing can be scratched on it, exposing the metal. The copper plate will then be immersed it in an acid solution. The acid will corrode the areas exposed, leaving the ones covered with the varnish intact. |
Este passo da gravação chama-se Água forte. Consiste em aplicar um verniz sobre a chapa de cobre para depois riscar um desenho, expondo o metal. A chapa é depois mergulhada em acido. Tudo o que não estiver coberto com o verniz é atacado pelo acido, formando o desenho.

Portuguese Artist Joana Vasconcelos at CCB

Born in Paris, 1971, where her father was exiled in consequence of the Portuguese regime of the time. She interprets the world through her unique reading of the mentalities, mythologies and iconographies of consumer society. Crossing tradition with modernity, the collective unconscious with history and the sublime with the symbolic, she questions identity, be it based on gender, class or nationality.

The bride, a gigantic chandelier made of OB tampons, questioning virginity as a resilient myth in many societies.
